WHO DOESN’T LOVE A FLOWER SHOW?

Flower shows are fun, worthwhile activities for all clubs. It’s not often that one activity embodies every aspect of the GCA mission in the way that a GCA Flower Show does. All divisions are open to exhibitors from GCA clubs and, as shows are open to the public, share the advantages of association through educational meetings

HOW OFTEN DOES MY CLUB NEED TO HAVE A FLOWER SHOW?

As often as possible! The Flower Show and Judging Guide recommends that clubs hold at least one club flower show each year. Some clubs alternate disciplines with their club shows to encourage all members to participate in each division. GCA Flower Shows should be held every two, three, four or five years. Note that hosting a show on 5 year intervals will challenge members on remembering the procedures and many newer members will be unfamiliar with the process. Club shows in the intervening years help to keep the procedures and nomenclature fresh in members’ minds.
